Kolkata Kitty in Denim
The denim fabric purse with a mustard floral repeating pattern has been stitched using the traditional Indian kantha hand stitch. Created from up-cycled sari fabric by the survivors of human trafficking at the Offspring Project mid-way house in Kolata, India, where each survivor learns new skills to allow them to develop a new life for themself.
Soft to touch, the fabric has already had a lifetime of love and now has been turned into a multi-purpose zip up fabric purse. The interior is lined with a contrasting, yet complementary fabric
Use as a make up bag, pencil case, a passport or travel wallet, as a pouch for your smaller belongings inside a handbag.. or even as a pouch to keep your cords and chargers together.
The name of this fabric purse came as friends travelled around Europe using one of the very first ones made. It was the joint money kitty for travelling expenses. Made in Kolkata, used as a kitty…and the name stuck.
