Gingerbread Salted Caramel Buttercream Icing with Misty's Gingerbread Salted Caramel
Gingerbread raises its delicious profile every year over the Christmas season. Over this period we as a nation celebrate its warm spicy flavour and devour it in vast quantities in all forms and fashion. We here at Jade and May can't for the life of us understand why it isn't in the forefront of everyone's mind all year round and are ever so grateful that the clever crew at Misty's have combined the flavour with their amazing Salted Caramel to help rectify this!
For us Misty's Gingerbread Salted Caramel is a winner on its own, however we assure you that having this Buttercream Icing recipe in your arsenal will have you producing sweet gingerbread-y flavoured treats that you'll NEED all year around. Make sure you think past the simply smothering this on spiced ginger cakes (although no doubt a divine combo), be creative and think spiced carrot cakes, chocolate cakes, orange cake, biscuits...
Ingredients:
90g Cream Cheese
250g Salted Butter
4 cups of Icing Sugar
5 tbsp Misty's Gingerbread Salted Caramel
Method:
1. Blend the cream cheese and butter together in an electric mixer on high.
2. Reduce speed and gradually add the icing sugar
3. Add the Gingerbread Salted Caramel, increase the speed and mix until well combined
